Venturing into China

MECI's new business venture into China has set another milestone for us. April 2004 marks the inauguration of Zhongshan Gomec Company Limited (Gomec), a joint venture effort of MECI and Goter Thermoplastic Compounds s.p.a. (Goter), Italy.

Gomec's plant which is located in Longshan Industrial Park (Taifeng), Xiaolan Town in Zhongshan City, Guangdong, P.R. China has a daily production capacity of 100 metric tonnes and is capable of producing various grades of thermoplastic rubber (TR) compounds for local and export market.

Gomec specializes in the manufacturing of TR compounds for rigid and flexible applications such as shoe soles, snow boots, anti-slipping mats, sealing rings, tools handle, etc. Products of Gomec can be applied in injection moulding, extrusion and calendaring processes.

Gomec although is still very young, she is capable of customizing its products for a wide range of application.
